Aspartame Changes its Name

I guess aspartame is tired of the truth being told about its danger to human and animal life, so they’ve thrown out the old and gone with the new. New name, new lies, perhaps?

Don’t be fooled. There is nothing healthy about any artificial sweetener — no matter what you might believe.

The new name of the unhealthy aspartame is ‘AminoSweet’. Don’t be fooled.

I am sick of the food industry poisoning the public for a profit. Don’t let them trick you. Eat veggies, fresh fruits, whole grains. Apparently food is the new weapon.

Here is the patent for aspartame which lists the process. Read it and see if it sounds healthy!

Winter Olympics!

My family is really excited about the Winter Olympics like many other families across the world. We will be spending the next week or so learning about the different events and keeping track of medals won. We are really looking forward to seeing the opening ceremonies too — it’ll be hard to top China’s opening ceremony!

Sick of Website Ads?

If you are anything like me, you are sick of seeing the bazillion different ads that get in the way of looking for information. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can’t stand ads! If I go to a website or blog, I am that much less likely to click anything if it’s filled with ads. I have never gone online in search of ads to click.

Good news! If you don’t want to see ads any longer, there’s a great add-on for Firefox called Ghostery. I highly, highly recommend it if you don’t want your internet experience riddled with ads. I can’t remember the last time I saw an Adsense ad, thank goodness!

Ghostery has really improved my internet experience.

Wow, it’s been a while since I have posted. I have been really busy working on a new website and haven’t had a lot of leisure time. We’ve got a bunch of activities this week and next, so I hope to have something to write about and some photos to post.

Girl Scout Investiture

Our homeschool Girl Scout troop held an investiture ceremony, and it turned out very nicely. I’d never heard of an investiture before, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Alyssa had done bridging twice, so I wasn’t expecting to do it for a few years. I’m glad our leader decided to hold the investiture, as it was a nice ceremony. The Cadettes began by lighting a candle and saying the Girl Scout promise, then the Juniors took turns lighting smaller candles and reciting their parts of the Girl Scout Law. Then they received their patches and membership pins, and at the end, they all sang ‘On My Honor’.

2010 Winter Olympics Unit Study

I recently bought a $5 unit study covering the Vancouver Olympics. It’s a 13-day study, so we will begin closer to when the Olympics actually begin — in about 27 days. It’s very hands-on, so I am sure I will have a lot of photos to post!

Back to School
